Overview

Infinium Spirits, a Young's Market Company affiliate, is hiring an Area Manager located in Los Angeles. The Area Manager manages distributors to meet and exceed business plan and performance objectives. This position is responsible for the creation, implementation, and execution of strategic sales initiatives with our wholesaler by channel of distribution. Trade responsibility includes On and Off Premise and Independent, Regional, National, and other licensed retail accounts. 

Responsibilities

  • Identifies critical, high payoff strategies and prioritizes team and distributor efforts consistent with the organization’s goals
  • Assigns responsibilities: delegates and coordinates work efforts; monitors team/distributor performance (depletions, shipments, pricing, budgets, promotional materials, and various required reports, etc.)
  • Coordinates and utilizes all promotional and marketing materials with sales team and distributor management
  • Uses financial and quantitative information effectively to manage; responsible for profit and loss results for region
  • Ensures agreed upon sales volume and profit goals are achieved while aggressively controlling costs within the work unit; makes decisions that enhance the organization’s financial position; spending profitability
  • Actively calls on key trade accounts and assists distributor sales team where applicable
  • Displays vision and a keen sense of the future; seeks new business/distribution opportunities
  • Proactively analyzes potential problems to avoid emergency situations and acts to correct
  • Assists Division Vice President in developing sales forecast for region; sets and communicates objectives to team and/or distributors; including six month marketing planner
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis on Business Administration or Sales and Marketing preferred 
  • YOU MUST HAVE 3-6 years of wine and spirits distributor management experience; distributor or alcohol supplier experience in selling alcohol, building wine or spirits brands, and conducting customer calls.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to communicate with management, colleagues and customers throughout the business and industry at every level.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Possess the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, as well as the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

 

REASONING ABILITY:

Possess the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Must possess valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle and clean DMV record.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) environment.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical and leadership skills.
  • Proven track record of successful sales and management skills.

  • The ability to train and develop assigned personnel.
  • Valid CA Driver's License
  • Willing and able to travel as needed, including air travel
